Project Q&A’s Story

Project Q&A is a nonprofit organization that raises awareness for the LGBTQ community living in rural America, through education, empowerment, and visibility. Your generous donation helps fund Project Q&A’s programs, such as local events, virtual workshops, and our annual Southeast Kansas Pride. Donations help grow our organization by providing the needed funding to extend our reach to rural America.

Project Q&A began in September 2016, as a social group for Montgomery County, Kansas’ LGBTQ community, and Allies. In the first year, Project grew to have over 20 people regularly attend the socials, gained national partnerships, and, most importantly, created a community for LGBTQ individuals in Southeast Kansas.

In September of 2017, Independence, KS celebrate the first-ever Southeast Kansas Pride, sponsored by Project Q&A. In 2018, Project Q&A hosted another successful SEK Pride, which was a week-long celebration with over 500 people attending. Events included a family game night, movie night, a historical exhibit chronicling the LGBT civil rights movement in Kansas City, educational workshops, a carnival, two drag shows, a potluck dinner, pub crawl, church service, and picnic at Riverside Park. Through two successful pride celebrations and multiple other community events. Project Q&A is becoming a well knowing organization not only in Montgomery County, Kansas but throughout the region. For the past five year’s Project Q&A has been working with the queer community in Southeast Kansas (SEK), raising awareness through education, empowerment, and visibility.

It truly takes a village to grow, live, and build! We hope that you will donate to help raise awareness for the LGBTQ community by supporting Project Q&A Inc.
